Geoptik Dual saddle plate - Vixen Synta & Losmandy :: Mounting hardware

Mount your existing Vixen GP, Orion or Synta Skywatcher telescopes side-by-side. Using a side-by-side setup keeps the centre of gravity close to the mount pivot point, reducing the need for additional counterweights compared to a traditional "piggyback" setup.

It also uses the mount and hardware to carry the weight - instead of the OTA like in a "piggyback" setup.

The Dual Saddle Plate is available in Vixen GP/Skywatcher format or Losmandy format in 2 main lengths (you can select via the dropdown menu below before ordering):

300mm Vixen/GP
300mm Losmandy
450mm Vixen/GP
450mm Losmandy

Notes on compatibility: The underside of these plates have threaded holes, so you can attach either Losmandy dovetail plates or Vixen/GP dovetail bars underneath to suit your mount. This lets you move the dual plates from side to side to achieve a better balance if one telescope is heavier than the other.

To use the 300mm side-by-side saddle plate on a Vixen/Skywatcher base, use the 170mm 30A061 Vixen/Synta mounting bar.
To use the 450mm side-by-side saddle plate on a Vixen/Skywatcher base, use the 330mm 30A060 Vixen/Synta mounting bar.
To use the 300mm side-by-side saddle plate on a Losmandy base, use the 170mm 30A063 Losmandy mounting plate.
To use the 450mm side-by-side saddle plate on a Losmandy base, use the 340mm 30A064 Losmandy mounting plate.
