The iOptron MiniTower Pro is a light-weight, portable Alt-Azimuth mount capable of supporting up to 33 pounds - a serious payload!

For example you can use the Minitower Pro with an 11” Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain, a 6”Refractor, an 8" F4 Newtonian, or an 8” Maksutov-Cassegrain, a high carrying capacity for a GOTO Alt Azimuth mount.

Equipped with 1x Losmandy-format and 1x Vixen-format dovetail adapter for a secondary telescope mounted opposite the main scope, metal worm gears with a typical 1 arc minute accuracy, a heavier tripod with 2" stainless steel alloy legs, and internal GPS the iOptron MiniTower Pro takes the best selling Minitower design to a new level.

You can now go to 130,000 objects with the SmartStar hand controller, which can be connect to a ASCOM compliant planetarium programs running on your PC. The advanced encoder system of the Minitower Pro offers greater encoder resolution and improved tracking performance compared to the standard Minitower. This improves pointing and tracking accuracy even more, especially with larger, heavier telescopes.

The Mini Tower Pro comes with an even more sturdy stainless steel / alloy 2" leg tripod, and two dovetail adapters - ready to take on most standard telescopes. It's still very portable, with all the standard components packaged in te same size alloy metal case as the Mitower (with the exception of the tripod) it can easily be transported around in a car boot, or as airline luggage.

The whole system takes only 10 minutes to assemble. This unlimited portability, combined with the internal GPS, gives amateur astronomers extreme flexibility in selecting an observing location. Equipped with the most advanced SmartStar GoTo technology, the iOptron MiniTower Pro is one of the most powerful, accurate GoTo mounts available.

The standard model 8401 hand controller offers superb navigation, and comes with an 8-line LCD backlit display, a 130,000 object database and a USB port for communication with most ASCOM compliant PC planetarium programs.

With improved encoder accuracy of 1 arc minute and even more precision autotracking, MiniTower Pro will consistently bring the celestial object of your choice to the center of the eyepiece and keep tracking it for hours.

Features such as automatic overcurrent protection, automatic clutch protection for both axes, easy 3point level adjustment, dual scope setup with two dovetails and much more, makes the iOptron MiniTower Pro one of the most user friendly GoTo mounts on the market.

PLEASE NOTE:

Do not be concerned if the box appears to have been opened. All mounts are removed from their boxes, and checked. Firmware is upgraded to the latest version and then the box is re-sealed. We apply a unique one-off, anti-tamper serial number to every iOptron product supported under our warranty. An image of the serial number is shown below. This can be found inside the battery compartment of the Minitower mounts - simply remove the battery holder, and the serial number should be immediately visible. This entitles you to two years of warranty support from date of purchase, provided you can produce the original sales invoice with that serial number on it, and the serial number on the product isn't showing signs of tampering. Legitimate iOptron products purchased from Offical Distributor Altair Astro UK and our official European partners will all have this unique serial number.
