Airylab 203mm Ultra High Resolution H-alpha Chromosphere Telescope
AiryLab launches "HαT"" is the largest aperture dedicated Hydrogen Alpha telescope in the amatuer astronomy market for ultra-high resolution observation and imaging of the sun, avialable in apertures of 203mm (C8), 235 (C9.25) and 280mm (C11).
Please note: This product cannot be ordered online, and the price varies with exchange rate, therefore it appears as "out of stock" on the website. Please contact us for a current quote. We look forward to working with you to build your dream solar imaging system.
The optical tube is a modified and tested Celestron Schmidt Cassegrain type EdgeHD aplanatic with a special thin-film Energy Rejection Filter treatment applied to the corrector plate, and a custom-made telecentric amplifier designed specifically for the optical system. Before the special coatings are applied the telescope is fully tested on the optical bench to ensure optimum performance.
This telescope can use all the Daystar range of unobstructed Fabry Perrot etalons up to a field diameter of 44mm in optimum operating conditions without the need for additional optics, allowing you full control over the bandpass and tuning of the system to meet your specific interests - whether it's high resolution chromosphere observation and imaging (surface details), or perhaps a special interest in the delicate prominences and solar flare artefacts in the outer regions of the solar atmosphere. You can even have two Etalon units to enjoy both types of solar observing or even a double stacked system..
The 8", 9.25" or 11" system will easily surpass the resolution limits set by smaller aperture solar telescopes, revealing fine details such as spicules on the solar limb or delicate field loops and patterns found in sunspots and prominences. These details are barely visible if at all in small solar telescopes. The user has the choice of HA filter (ordered separately - contact us for recommendations) to be added between the telecentric system and your camera, eyepiece or binoviewer.
The HαT system has been tested in several single and double stacked filter configurations from the very affordable Coronado PST, to the high-end Daystar Ion and Quantum Etalon units. Being official Coronado and Daystar dealers, Altair Astro are able to supply all these Etalon units at competitive prices.
The Airylab HαT is simply the last word in high resolution solar imaging, as one can see from the gallery images above (click to enlarge).
Airylab HαT Ordering & Availability: 8" OTAs are usually in stock, larger OTAs have to be ordered and modified. Etalon units are built to order based on your requirements.
