The Hypercam 1.25inch nosepiece is precision machined with a straight sided barrel. This allows for more repeatable collimation in your 2" focuser or extension tube.
This avoids the collimation problems associated with "safety undercuts" on standard nosepieces.
A female 1.25" Astro filter thread on the front allows attachment of standard 1.25" filters, and is compatible with the Altair Astro range of 1.25" filters.
An ultra hard matte e-coat surface treatment gives more grip and durability.
The matte internal coating stops IR reflections (often present with cheaper gloss anodised products), and internally threaded surfaces improve contrast by reducing reflections.
