The M48 to DSLR Camera adapter lets you attach a Canon DSLR camera directly to an Altair Astro or any other telescope with a 2" Pushfit ID focuser barrel.
An M48 DSLR camera adapter is included, which screws into a 30mm M48 barrel, also included. See detailed thumbnail image for an example.
You can also screw a 2" format filter with standard M48x0.75x "Astro" filter thread into the front of the 30mm barrel for, say a light pollution or OIII filter.
Why buy this product instead of a T-Thread DSLR adapter? The M48 x 0.75 thread is also referred to as "Large Aperture T-Thread" because it's 6mm wider than the smaller 42mm T-Thread. This reduces the chance of "Vignetting" or light "cut-off" at the edges of the image-frame. With the included 30mm M48 spacer screwed into the base, your M48 DSLR adapter can be used in most 2" telescope focusers, or 2" diagonals and in fact, just about any 2" push-fit telescope focuser. This gives you maximum compatibility.
