This combo package includes a British-made Starbase field tripod with iOptron CEM60 mount.

The UK made Starbase CNC machined tripod is much stronger and more stable than the standard CEM60 tripod and is a significant upgrade for just about any tripod on the market.

The Starbase  features an extremely rigid structure, a beautiful finish, and precision engineering only possible with CNC machined components and manual assembly in our local machine shop.

The CEM60 mount fits direct to the Starbase Tripod without any adapters needed.

What's more the Starbase tripod can be used with many other scopes either direct-fit, or with adapter, so it's a "keeper" for portable imaging or visual observing.

The CEM60 is a new heavy duty Centre Balanced Equatorial mount from iOptron, with a very low head weight of 12.3kg, and a high 27kg payload capacity. It ships with 1x 9.5kg counterweight. A very well made flight case is included.

The CEM60 Mount:

"We've been waiting for a sub 30lb mount with around 60lb carrying capacity for some time now. The iOptron CEM60 fits into an ideal position in the market, where the portability vs. carrying capacity ratio allows for either observatory or field use with larger telescopes or dual-mounted refractor/reflector combos. The CEM60 is a pleasure to use, with almost zero backlash evident during autoguiding corrections and slewing. It slews and tracks very smoothly and quietly, so it won't wake up the neighbours. What's more, the CEM60 standard model is routinely autoguided down to a peak to peak periodic error of under 3 arc seconds or less by experienced customers with a rigid optical tube. If you think that's impressive, the more expensive CEM60-EC with it's Realtime Periodic Error Correction or "RPEC", is capable of approx.1 arc second periodic error with guiding and a good quality rigid optical tube, and we have several reports of  approx. 5 arc seconds without guiding. (We are continually updating this text as more reports from satisfied customers keep coming in). This tracking performance equivalent to mounts costing 4x the price or more. As usual, we've launched the product at an introductory price. To take advantage of this price, order as soon as possible."  - Altair Astro Staff

The iOptron CEM60, has a payload of 27kg (60 lbs) and a mount-only weight of 12.3 kg (27lbs). Not only does the CEM60 have an amazing weight to payload capacity, it also outperforms similar size mounts costing several times the price in accuracy, with all the advanced imaging-friendly features you could wish for.
The CEM60 puts the weight of the payload at the center of gravity allowing for greater natural stability. This makes the mount extremely light compared to its payload with a payload-to-weight ratio of 2.2. That's why the CEM60 is a good choice for both portable field setup, AND permanent observatory use.
The CEM60 redefines the concept of the equatorial mount for viewing and astrophotography by placing the load between two precision engineering main bearings. This improves tracking accuracy compared to conventional mounts where the bearings are placed comparatively far away from the load.

Two versions of the CEM60 are available. The CEM60 which is the "Standard" model with Programmable Periodic Error Correction (PPEC) and the CEM60 "Advanced" model with optional Real-Time PEC for incredibly high tracking accuracy, intended for customers with longer focal length instruments, or those who want the very best tracking performance available. Either mount still offers simply amazing performance in it's class.

The iOptron CEM60 mount features a large dual 1.75" / 3" dovetail clamp for convenient use of most telescopes on the market. Other features include an adjustable counterweight bar to prevent obstruction with the tripod or pier. Polar alignment is quick and easy with the AccuAligningTM polar scope, which can be viewed-through regardless of where the mount is pointing, because it isn't blocked by the declination shaft.

The CEM60 is equipped with the most advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and accurate GOTO mounts available. The CEM database includes over 300,000 objects. The Go2Nova® Hand Controller is intuitive to use and its large 8-line LCD screen simplifies the process of setting telescopes and locating objects.

Another feature is through-cabling to reduce the number of cables around your telescope and imaging accessories. 2x 12v power-out ports and 4x USB ports are conveniently placed just below the dovetail clamp on the mount's RA axis.

Here's a video of the CEM60 slewing sound - the beeps can apparently be disabled but the important thing is how quiet this mount is:
