Synopsis: iOptron SkyGuider reviewed in Sky at Night Magazine

iOptron SkyGuider Review in Sky at Night MagazineThe iOptron SkyGuider review in Sky at Night Magazine, earned it 5 Stars for Tracking Accuracy.

Now you can take long exposures for beautiful images of the night sky in a portable package.

The SkyGuider makes it easy to take long exposures of the night sky without streaking or star trailing. What's more, the tripod, counterweight and polar scope are all included in one package, with cases for the head and tripod respectively. That's perfect for a holiday overeas, or even that short trip to your back yard.

The SkyGuider mount is simple and quick to set up. Just attach the unit to the tripod, and mount your digital camera or lightweight scope onto the mount. Then it's time to align the mount using the included AccuAlignTM dark field illuminated polar scope, and the optional Smartphone Apps:

Once aligned, switch on the motor drive, and the SkyGuider will keep your camera tracking at the same speed the earth rotates.
Want to check your polar-alignment whilst your camera is set up on the mount? No problem - the SkyTracker polar scope runs through the Right Ascension axis, so you can re-check your polar alignment without disassembling the mount, and removing dovetails or ballheads. That feature alone makes the SkyGuider a real time-saver. Now add the rest and you have a well-designed imaging machine!
With the same high quality gears and motors found in the ZEQ25, the SkyGuider keeps your camera tracking accurately, avoiding star trails. A built-in autoguiding port allows you to track for very long periods, and to use longer lenses.
