The 4-lens apochromat was optimised for photography and provides illumination for full-frame cameras. The telescope set also offers outstanding visual performance and produces extremely sharp and high-contrast images without chromatic aberration.
The SXD2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN control technology and the PFL-II polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars.

The SXD 2 mount in detail With a combination of the best features from the Sphinx series and the all-new STAR BOOK TEN manual control, Vixen has developed a new generation of SX mounts for demanding observers and astrophotographers. The SXD2 mount comes with the new STAR BOOK TEN control and be operated manually or with a computer. Featuring the same precision stepper motors as the top-of-the range AXD mount, the SXD2 sets a new standard for performance in the Vixen mount range. Compared with the SX mounts, the SXD2 has a quieter tracking system, and the increased precision of the motors provides better performance for the long exposure times used in astrophography.

Precision stepper motors and micro-step motion control system The star feature of the SXD2 is the precision stepper motors, which offer better performance and responsiveness than previous models. The micro-step motion control system has powerful yet very quiet drive characteristics that offer both fine control and quick swivel movements.

Built-in bearings The bearings of the RA and DEC axles and the worm shafts were significantly improved in order to reduce the load on the motors. The motors are much quieter than those on previous models.

Robust RA and DEC axles High-precision and thick steel shafts in RA and DEC increase the robustness of the SXD2 mount.

High-precision worm gears High-precision processing technologies were used to rectify problems with the worm gear. The edges of both worms and worm gears are particularly smooth, which enables them to deliver very high precision.

Declination axis functions as counterweight The sturdy motor units are located in the lower section of the declination axis to ensure that the SDX2’s centre of gravity is below the intersection of the RA and DEC axis. As a result, fewer additional counterweights are required.

The AX103S in detail The AX103S is a top-of-the-range ED apochromat in the refractor series. It features a triplet ED lens and a rear-mounted field flattener lens.
The f8.0 refractor contains a central ED lens in the objective and reduces chromatic aberration to an absolute minimum.
An optional focal reducer can reduce the aperture ratio to 1:5.6 in order to provide quicker results for astrophotographers.
The built-in field flatenner lens provides a sharp image across the entire field of view – an essential requirements in astrophotography.
The 60 mm ring on the focuser allows you to attach a 2” eyepiece and a camera adapter. The AX103S is specially designed for photography, but also offers stunning visual performance, especially for observing the moon and the planets.
